Purpose:
Hello, my name is Brendan McBride and I am in English 106 at Purdue University. This Blog is about my class and the work I am doing in it. I will have my reading reflections and my research paper. On this website there is a calendar and links that take you to the papers that I wrote. As of now I have posted my two reflection papers on the articles we had to read for class and my research proposal on education in Africa. You can use the search bar above the calendar to find something without using the links if you like. Please read the copy right notice as I do take plagiarism very seriously as it is a crime. Thank you for visiting my website.
Reflection:
After 8 weeks of English 106, we have written reflections on stories and articles that we read. I have also written a 3 papers on the importance of education in sub-saharan countries. I first wrote a literary review in which I researched what other people have written about my topic, then I interviewed someone I knew who lived in one of those countries, and finally argued my point. I learned a lot in the class, and learned how to make a good arguement. I feel as if I can write better persuasive papers now. Also, with the articles that we read for class, I now have a better understanding of the importance of reading carefully, looking to see if there are in bias in the authors point of view, and mainly, to think for myself, and not how others tell me to think.
